Ever wondering how your car could become more high-tech, without having to be turned into a time-travelling DeLorean? Well, a partnership amidst tech companies and subject matter providers are cooking up the view of a prototype “LTE Connected Car”. that car would basically sport 4G mobile broadband connectivity, along with a bunch of cloud-facilities, like video-on-demand, audio libraries and online gaming. In effect, your car could turn into a Wi-Fi hotspot, which is quite an appealing notion. It seems that the Toyota Prius has been selected as the experiment model for such a setup. The p ress release can be found here. Now, if we can just get Team Fortress 2 projected onto the windshield HUD…

The merry team at Google has finally offered a free, turn-by-turn navigation service for their Maps software, and even in beta they have pegged it. Currently available only for the Android OS 2.0 platform, it will be made available to similarly powered devices when they ship, while other platform support will be announced by both carriers and phone manufacturers when the parties are ready. No reason for you to get lost now, eh?

Today AT&T announced the HTC Pure with Windows Mobile 6.5 and we had the chance to get our hands on the towering rumored device. Windows Mobile 6.5 brings a new Touch-friendly user interface that resolves Windows 6.1’s horrible touch user interface, the lengthy awaited flash support and the access to an app store: Windows Market Place. In addition, a new service, MyPhone, allows the users to sync their goods in the cloud, in case of loss, personal input retrieval on the replacement phone is touted to be very easy. Of course, I will compare the Pure to the iPhone 3Gs and the MyTouch / HTC Magic.
Are you fighting the too-many-remote blues? Well, Logitech just announced its Harmony 900, a universal remote that builds on the majestic Harmony One multi-remote. The 900 uses the same superb physical design as the Harmony One, but it now supports radio frequency (RF) commands, in addition to infra-red (IR) ones. Logitech has plus added a piano black dock that will charge the remote.. That’s not all: Logitech now has in-cabinet IR blasters for users who like to have everything neatly packed and hidden away (like me). Finally, the setup for the remote is a snap. It’s not perfect, but it’s miles ahead of the competition. $399 on Amazon.
