A new bill from the U.S Senate aimed at protecting against cyber-threats on critical infrastructure would effectively authorize the President to control the Web traffic in case of an emergency. Some compared it to the kind of control that allowed the President to ground all planes on Sept 11th . The bill is still far from reaching the
President’s desk, but right now, the telecom industry would not support it until more details emerge.“It is unclear what authority Sen. Rockefeller thinks is essential by the private sector. Unless that is clarified, we cannot properly analyze, let alone support the bill.” (Larry Clinton, president of the Net shield Alliance).

What will happen to scholarship money that is left over from college tuition?

I imagine that this money would be allocated to various funds as needed. In other words, you can kiss it goodbye. Really scary stuff.

The government is turning socialist and wants to control every aspect of our lives.

Seems to me since The Patriot Act was brought in the US Gov wants to control every aspect of life, foreign or domestic. Its just another aspect of the Reds Under the Beds mentality, that nearly brought the world to the brink of WWIII. Different colour? Must be a terrorist, lock em away without trial. When we see imaginary enemy’s every where, THAT is the real threat, when we blithely sell our democracy down the river, for an assurance that the Gov will look after us. Makes me wonder who the REAL bad guys are.
